The New Brunswick store sits right in the heart of downtown at 51 Bayard Street, a short walk from the Rutgers campus, the train station, and the restaurants and offices that fill the city center. That downtown footing makes this the most walk-in friendly of our eight locations. People stop by on a lunch break, between classes, or after an appointment downtown, often with coins they have been meaning to sort out for months.

It is also one of the most varied counters we run. New Brunswick is a genuinely diverse city, and the collections that come through reflect that. We see US silver and gold alongside foreign coins from every corner of the world, brought in by people whose families carried them across borders or picked them up traveling. Every coin gets the evaluation it earns

What separates a coin shop from a pawn shop or a weigh-and-pay gold buyer is that not every coin is treated as raw metal. Pre-1965 US dimes, quarters, and half dollars are 90% silver, and when there are no standout dates among them, that junk silver is valued on its silver weight against the live spot price. Common bullion such as American Silver Eagles and one-ounce bars is priced the same way, straight off spot.

Numismatic coins are a different story. A key-date Morgan or Peace dollar, a slabbed PCGS or NGC piece, an early proof set, or a scarce wheat penny can carry collector value that has nothing to do with melt. Those get identified, set aside, and looked up individually. Gold runs on the same logic: a generic Eagle is bullion, while a pre-1933 Saint-Gaudens or Liberty Head may carry a numismatic premium above its metal content.
