Sell Diamonds for Cash in New Brunswick, NJ
Downtown Bayard St diamond buyer. Serving the Rutgers community, Highland Park, Somerset, and surrounding towns since day one.
New Brunswick's Diamond Buyer on Bayard St
New Brunswick is a city with deep roots and a constantly changing population. Between Rutgers students, longtime residents, and families who have been here for generations, we see diamonds with all kinds of stories behind them.
A grandmother's engagement ring from the 1950s. A graduation gift that never gets worn.
A divorce settlement that someone is ready to turn into cash.
Our Bayard St location sits right in the heart of downtown, easy to reach from Route 1 or Route 27. People come from Highland Park, Somerset, Franklin, North Brunswick, and Piscataway to sell their diamonds here. We have built our reputation on giving fair, honest offers and paying the same day.
We buy every kind of diamond piece. Solitaire engagement rings are the most common, but we also purchase three-stone rings, halo settings, diamond stud earrings, pendants, bracelets, and loose certified stones. If your diamond is set in gold or platinum, we factor in the metal value too and give you one combined price.
Family Diamonds and Inherited Pieces
New Brunswick is home to families from dozens of different cultural backgrounds. Many of our customers bring in diamond jewelry they inherited from parents or grandparents.
These are often older cuts: old mine cut, old European cut, or transitional cut diamonds. Some buyers will not pay a fair price for older cuts.
We will. These stones have character, and collectors and jewelers want them.
If you are not sure what you have, that is fine. Bring it in.
Our evaluation takes about 15 to 20 minutes. We inspect the stone under magnification, run it through a diamond tester, and assess the 4Cs: cut, clarity, color, and carat weight.
Then we give you a cash offer. No pressure.
If you want to think about it, walk out and come back later.
We buy lab-grown diamonds too. The market for lab-grown stones has changed a lot in recent years, and resale values differ from natural diamonds, but they are not worthless. We will tell you exactly what yours is worth.

What Determines Your Diamond's Value
Carat weight
is the first thing most people ask about. Larger diamonds command higher prices per carat, not just higher prices overall.
A single 1. 5-carat stone is worth more than three half-carat stones of equal quality.
Color
ranges from D (perfectly colorless) down to Z. Most engagement ring diamonds fall in the G to J range. We buy all color grades, and fancy colors like blue or pink can be especially valuable.
Clarity
measures how many inclusions or blemishes the diamond has. Stones graded VS2 or better tend to look clean to the naked eye. We use 10x magnification to grade every stone accurately.
Cut
affects how the diamond reflects light. A well-cut diamond looks brighter and more alive.
Even a high-color, high-clarity stone can look dull if the cut is poor. We account for all of this in our offer.
If you have a GIA, AGS, or EGL certificate, bring it along. It saves time and helps us confirm the grading.
Downtown, Diverse, and Walk-In Friendly
The Bayard Street store sits in the heart of downtown New Brunswick, a few steps from George Street and within easy walking distance for people who live and work in the city center. That downtown footprint makes us a true walk-in counter, where someone can stop in on a lunch break or between errands without planning a trip out to a strip mall.
New Brunswick is one of the most diverse communities we serve, with longtime multi-generational households sitting alongside a large student population tied to Rutgers. The diamonds reflect that mix: family rings carried across generations and cultures on one side, and on the other, students and recent grads turning an unworn gift or an old ring into quick cash.
Sellers also come downtown from Highland Park, Franklin Township, Somerset, Piscataway, Edison, Metuchen, South Plainfield, Bound Brook, Manville, Hillsborough, and Kendall Park.
Downtown also has its share of pawn shops along French and George Streets that chase quick, short-term loans. We are not that. We are an outright buyer who appraises your diamond and pays you for it, with the stone and any gold or platinum setting valued together into one honest offer rather than a loan you have to pay back.
How We Evaluate Diamonds at the New Brunswick Store
Step up to the Bayard Street counter and your diamond gets a clear, walk-in appraisal built on the four Cs, whether you are a downtown resident or a student selling your first piece.
We start with cut, checking the proportions and finish that decide a diamond's brightness, since a strong cut raises the value relative to today's market. We grade color along the D-to-Z range against reference stones. We study clarity under 10x magnification to identify inclusions. We confirm carat on a precision scale taken to the hundredth.
Bring the diamond loose or still set, either works. We evaluate a loose stone on its own, and when it is mounted we appraise the diamond and pay separately for the setting metal, because a gold or platinum mount carries value at the live spot price regardless of the stone it holds.
A GIA, AGS, or EGL certificate is welcome and helps us confirm the grade quickly, but our buyers appraise uncertified diamonds all day and no paperwork is required to get an offer. Say yes and you walk out with same-day cash, right there downtown.
